Enabling Debit as a Payment Method on a Third Party POS
In order for a store to track and tender out debit purchases on the POS, a new tender button needs to be enabled on the POS as a payment method. Depending on if the store gives out change for debit purchases or not determines if the "Debit" button or "Cashless ATM" button is used to track sales.
Debit vs. Cashless ATM Tenders
If the store is giving out change for purchases, the best option for tendering debit sales is by tracking sales using a "Cashless ATM" tender. This allows the store to enter in a higher total on the POS, to track any change that is given back to a customer. For example, if a purchase totals $34.00, but the store has to round the debit purchase to $35.00, and give a $1.00 change, then the POS would allow you to enter in $35.00, and it would track the $1.00 change taken out of the till.
If the store does not give any change out for debit transactions, then the normal "Debit" tender button will suffice to track transactions.
