How to Set Up the JRHC S-6606T for Inv. Audits

The JRHC S-6606T (2D Wireless barcode scanner) is a powerful and affordable scanner capable of storing a list of barcodes scanned directly within its internal memory. This gives you the freedom to walk around and audit items without worrying if you are still in the Bluetooth range of your device. This article will walk you through how to set up your JRHC S-6606T as well as how you will export the list of barcodes to a document after completing the audit.

 

Note: Within the article "Device" refers to any computer or tablet that can connect to the scanner and support a text file (such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Notepad, Notes...)

Follow the steps below to set up your JRHC S-6606T:

  1. Remove the JRHC S-6606T scanner from the packaging and power it on using the "Power" button in the lower left-hand corner of the keypad. Note, if the scanner does not power on it may be out of battery and need to be charged using the provided USB cable.
  2. Once powered on, use the arrow keys to select "Export" then press "ENT"
  3. Next, use the arrow keys to select "Export Settings" then press "ENT" OR select "3" on the keyboard
  4. Using the arrow keys again select "Collect Format" then press "ENT" OR select "2" on the keyboard 
  5. You should now see a table of fields titled "Field1" through "Field15". Using the arrow keys, highlight each row that has a pre-set input for each field and press the "DEL" key on the keyboard. This will remove the pre-set export format that is set by the manufacturer.
  6. After deleting all fields, use the arrow keys to highlight "Field1" and press "ENT".
  7. Using the arrow keys again, navigate to the field titled "Barcode" and press "ENT"
  8. Next, highlight "Field2" and press "ENT"
  9. Using the arrow keys, navigate to the field titled "Enter" and press "ENT"
  10. You should now see "Barcode" set for Field1 and "Enter" set for Field2, finally, press "ESC" three times to return to the main scanner menu.

Your JRHC S-6606T is now set up and ready to be used for an audit. Follow the steps below to start a new collection of barcodes & export the data to your connected device once your audit is complete.   1. Using the arrow keys highlight the "Collect" option from the main menu then select "ENT"
  2. Next, create a new barcode library (name of the group of barcodes) to do this use the keypad to input a name that easily identifies the group of barcodes you are about to audit. After giving the library a name press "ENT" to create the new library
  3. You should now see the newly created library on the screen. To continue with the audit highlight the new barcode library and press "ENT"
  4. You can now begin to scan each barcode you would like to audit. As you scan barcodes you will see them appear on the screen along with a counter of how many times that barcode has been scanned.
  5. Once you have completed your audit, press "ESC" two times to return to the scanner's main menu.
  6. Next, you will export the list of barcodes to your device. Start by plugging in the scanner to your device using the provided USB cable.
  7. With the scanner plugged into your device, open a new text document on your device (such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Notepad, Notes...)
  8. After you have both plugged in the scanner to your device and opened up a new text document, use the following steps to export the list of barcodes:
    1. From the main menu on the scanner highlight "Export" and press "ENT"
    2. Ensure that "Collect Export" is highlighted then press "ENT"
    3. Using the arrow keys, navigate down to "Keyboard export mode" and press "ENT"
    4. Ensure that "Single lib export" is highlighted then press "ENT"
    5. If this is your first audit then you should only have one lib available to select, therefore press "ENT" to begin the barcode export to your device. If you have multiple libraries on the scanner, you may need to use the arrow keys to highlight the correct library before pressing "ENT" to start the export.
      • NOTE: As soon as you press "ENT" the scanner will type out the list of barcodes as if it were a keyboard, ensure that the cursor on your device is on the text document before beginning the export
