How do I add or remove taxes?
How to Add taxes:
Taxes can be created directly in the portal under ‘Settings’ -> ‘Taxes’. From this page, select the ‘New Tax’ button to start creating a new tax within the POSaBIT system. Once selected, you are able to give a name for the tax, set a tax rate or fixed amount, determine if this tax should be included in the price, and finally whether or not this new tax is a ‘cannabis tax’.
Once you have created the tax on the tax page, you will need to enable this tax for each product type that it applies to. To do this, navigate to ‘Inventory’ -> ‘Product Types’. Then for each product type, you want this new tax to apply to, select 'Edit' on the corresponding row, and use the checkboxes to enable that tax as well as if you wish to exclude certain customer types (patients/rec customers).
How to Remove Taxes:
Taxes can be easily de-activated using the “Taxes” page found under the “Settings” dropdown. Once on this page, select the tax that you would like to deactivate and press “Edit”. Once on the edit page, deselect the “is Active” flag to disable that tax. Finally, press the save button to save the new settings.
