Off-Site Shop Checklist and Guide

With summer quickly approaching, your company may be gearing up to participate in off-site events, where you will be selling products away from your normal brick-and-mortar retail space. If you are in need of renting additional POSaBIT hardware for the event, or are intending to bring any of your current POSaBIT POS hardware and/or POSaBIT debit terminal hardware, there are a few proactive steps we recommend in preparation for your event:

  1. If you need to rent additional equipment for the event, reach out to
your POSaBIT Customer Success Manager as soon as possible to
ensure that POSaBIT can provide the equipment you need in time for
    the event.
    • POSaBIT may not be able to accommodate requests that are submitted
with too short of notice before the event.
  2. If your store is participating in an event that provides a Wi-Fi
network, we recommend that you reach out to the event managers
to ensure that there are no restrictions on the Wi-Fi network that
    will impact your POSaBIT equipment.
    • Wifi networks at large-scale events may have restrictions that will
prevent your POSaBIT equipment from working properly.
    • Restrictions on WiFi networks can impact your ability to process debit
transactions, and in rarer cases may also impact your ability to receive
      online orders on POSaBIT POS.
  3. If there are too many restrictions present on the event WiFi
networks, we recommend sourcing a mobile hotspot to use with your
POSaBIT equipment. Mobile hotspots are less likely to have any kind of
    restrictions on their data.
    • You may also be able to source a SIM card to be used with your
POsaBIT debit terminals. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager
      for more details.
    • Be sure to check if there will be any physical limitations on using a
mobile hotspot or SIM card at the event. The last thing you want is to
go to the trouble of sourcing a mobile hotspot or SIM card, only to find
out that you won’t have any reception within the event space!
  4. Ensure that there will be an adequate amount of electrical outlets
available for your equipment at the event. You will need an outlet for
each of the following pieces of equipment:
    • POSaBIT POS Register
    • POSaBIT POS Receipt Printer
    • Label Printers (specific to certain US States)
    • POSaBIT Debit Terminal
    • Mobile Hotspot (if sourcing one for the event)
  5. Be sure to bring any extra equipment or supplies you may need,
    such as:
    • Receipt paper for your POSaBIT POS Receipt Printer
    • Receipt paper for your POSaBIT Debit Terminals
    • Chargers or charging cables for various pieces of equipment
