Setting up Barcode only Product Search
When ringing up an order sometimes the product being purchased is unable to be scanned using the barcode. In these scenarios, the budtender is required to look up the product using the Product Search field. In order to accurately track inventory when looking up products in the cart budtenders need to be careful that the product they look up has the same lot # as the one they sell to the customer. In order to ensure this is always the case you can set the Product Search field to only use barcode numbers. By only using the barcode number you eliminate the budtender's ability to search by name. Therefore, if you have two different lots with the same product, the budtender won't accidentally select the product from the wrong lot.
In order to enable this feature follow the steps below:
- Log into the POSaBIT POS Portal.
- Select Inventory Settings under the Settings tab at the top of the screen.
- Scroll all the way down until you see the advanced settings section.
- Under Default POS Product Search Mode, change the drop-down to Product Barcode Number Only.
- Press Save.
