What Does it Mean if the Debit Terminal Receipt says CANCELLED and APPROVED?
When a receipt prints out of the debit terminal, and says "CANCELLED" with a response code that says 000-Approved, then the customer was NOT charged. This kind of receipt will print out if the customer removes their card from the debit terminal too quickly after entering their card pin number, and the charge may show up as pending on the customer's bank statement.
It is important to note that even though the receipt says "Approved", and shows it on their bank statement, this does NOT mean the charge will go through. The transaction will fall off the customer's statement, so you must run their card again, or collect cash for the purchase.
