How to Setup Compliance Labels for Bulk Flower Products in Oklahoma
The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority has several requirements for the labeling and packaging of medical marijuana products being sold within Oklahoma. These requirements include:
- The Name of the Dispensary
- The License Number of the Dispensary
- Name of the Medical Marijuana
- New Quantity or weight of contents
- Ingredients List (This is defaulted to "Medical Grade Cannabis" for bulk products)
- THC Potency
- Terpenoid Potency
- The Oklahoma Uniform Symbol
- Several government warnings including:
- "This product has been tested for contaminants."
- "Keep out of reach of children."
- "Women should not use marijuana or medical marijuana products during pregnancy because of the risk of birth defects."
- “For use by licensed medical marijuana patients only."
While most products you receive will already have all of this information on the labels, bulk products that are packaged at the time of sale will need to have a new label printed containing the exact quantity or weight of contents.
Therefore, please use the following instructions in order to properly set up your bulk products so that a compliant label is printed at the time of sale:
First, ensure that all necessary information is entered for each bulk product that you would like to sell. The following instructions describe exactly where you will enter each of these fields:
- Login to the POSaBIT web portal
- Navigate to the "Inventories" page found under the "Inventory" drop-down.
- Using the filters on the left-hand side of the screen, select the product type that contains all of your bulk-flower products.
- For each bulk flower product listed that has inventory press the product name to view the inventory details for that specific inventory item:
- Next, select "Edit" at the top of the page and make sure the following data is entered into the product details:
- Product Type
- Name
- Terpene % (ingredients field): Enter the total terpene % found within this product directly in the ingredients text box followed by a "%" symbol (for example "5.5%")
- After you have updated the product details for this product, select "Save" at the bottom of the page to save the data. Next, you will need to update the lot-specific information. To do this return to the inventory details page for that specific product. This time press on the specific lot number found within the module titled "Lots". Next, ensure the following data is entered into the lot-specific data fields:
- SKU (product details)
- Batch Number
- THC Amount
- CBD Amount
- Once you have updated the lot details for this lot, press the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the data form to save your new lot details.
- Repeat steps 4.1 - 4.3 for all bulk flower products that currently have inventory in your venue.
- Next, select "Edit" at the top of the page and make sure the following data is entered into the product details:
Second, you will need to set which size of label you would like to print for your products. Follow the steps below to properly set which label size you would like to print for your bulk flower products:
- Login to the POSaBIT web portal
- Navigate to "Labels" found under the "Settings" dropdown at the top of the page.
- Within the section titled "Label", first select "Compliance Label" from the dropdown.
- By selecting "compliance label" POSaBIT will only print out a label for products that are bulk or have been transformed within your POSaBIT system.
- Next, select which label size you would like to use from the right dropdown. Currently, the label sizes available for OK include:
- 2x1
- 2.25x1.25
- 2.25x3
- 1.125x3.5
- Lastly, after selecting both "Compliance Label" as well as the specific label size you would like to use, press the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page to save your label settings.
