How to Perform a Network Test on G2 Nexgo Payment Terminal

The network test on a G2 Nexgo Payment Terminal helps POSaBIT diagnose connectivity issues that might prevent the terminal from communicating with the processor. It can identify problems with the internet connection, DNS resolution, or gateway reachability.When/Why to Perform It:

  1. Troubleshooting Failed Transactions: If a customer reports failed transactions, the network test can confirm whether connectivity issues are the cause.
  2. Setup Verification: When setting up a new terminal, running this test ensures that the terminal is properly connected to the network.
  3. Intermittent Connection Problems: If the terminal occasionally drops connectivity, this test can help identify unstable network links.
  4. Post-Network Changes: After the customer makes changes to their router, firewall, or ISP settings, this test verifies the terminal’s connection.

Notice: We encourage this test whenever you experience transaction issues or after making network changes.

Learn how to perform a network test on a G2 Nexgo payments terminal below:

  1. Exit the POSaBIT App by clicking the 'o' at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Next, click the "Network Test" button.
  3. On the next screen, click "Perform All Checks" at the bottom of the screen and your test will begin.

What if it fails?

We suggest testing the connection again. If it fails again, reset the network settings. If it still fails, call a network technician.
