Weedmaps - How to Disable Auto Strain Tagging

In addition to using branded products to enhance your online menu, weedmaps also offers automatic strain mapping. This feature analyzes the names of your custom product and automatically links them to strains within the weedmaps database.

While this is an extremely useful tool, the mapping between products and strains is not perfect. Therefore, every once in a while you will run into a product that gets automatically linked to the wrong strain. When this happens you are able to either turn off strain mapping for that product listing or fix the mapping so that the product is linking to the correct strain!

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to edit or disable strain mapping for a certain product within weedmaps:

  1. Head to weedmaps.com
  2. Login to your Weedmaps account
  3. Once logged in, press the account icon in the top right then press “Manage my Business
  4. You should now see a list of all dispensaries under your account
    • If you have a merchant account you might see several different venues listed here
  5. Locate your listing (if multiple exist) that is connected to POSaBIT and click on the listings name
  6. Next, search the list of products for the menu item that has the incorrect strain data
  7. Once you have located the menu item, press the blue "edit" button on the corresponding row for that product
  8. On the "Edit Menu Item" screen, scroll down until you see the strain information located within the box labeled "Discovery"
  9. First select the strain dropdown and search for the correct strain that this menu item should be mapped to. If you are able to locate the strain, simply select the strain then continue to step #11
  10. If you are unable to locate the strain within the dropdown list, disable to "Auto Tagging" feature by making sure the flag labeled "Auto-tagging on" is disabled
  11. Once you have either selected a new strain for the product to map too or disabled auto-tagging for the product press the blue "Save" button found in the bottom right hand corner of the screen
