How to Check the Software Version on an ELO Terminal

On the night of September 30, 2025, POSaBIT will complete a backend migration to the Elo Terminal Management System (TMS), which manages terminals and pushes POSaBIT POS app updates.

  • If your Elo terminal has been online since early August, it has already received the required update.
  • If your terminal has been offline (e.g., powered off or stored), it may not meet the minimum software requirements for this migration.
  • Any terminal not updated before Sept. 30 will become inoperable and require a factory reset to reconnect to POSaBIT.
πŸ‘‰ Please ensure all terminals are powered on, connected to the internet, and running a compliant software version. If you find a terminal on an older build, contact your POSaBIT support rep immediately so they can push an update before the migration.

Step 1: Access the Device Settings

  1. From the home screen, swipe up or tap the Settings (gear) icon.
  2. If your device is locked in kiosk mode, use the Elo exit gesture:
    • Tap 5 times quickly in the same corner of the screen (by default, the lower right corner).
    • Enter your admin password or PIN when prompted.
    • This will open the Admin/Settings menu.

Step 2: Navigate to the "About" Section

  1. In the Settings menu, scroll down and tap System (or go directly to About device/About tablet, depending on your model).
  2. Select About device (sometimes shown as About tablet or About terminal).

Step 3: Find the Software Version

  1. Look for Software version.
  2. Your Elo software version will be shown in a format similar to:
    • 3.66.43
    • 4.66.27
    • 5.000.032.0071

Step 4: Verify Your Version

Compare your software version to the minimum required versions below:

  • Software versions starting with 3
    • Must be 3.66 or higher
    • βœ… Compliant: 3.66.43
    • ❌ Non-compliant: 3.58.10
  • Software versions starting with 4
    • Must be 4.66 or higher
    • βœ… Compliant: 4.66.27
    • ❌ Non-compliant: 4.54.22
  • Software versions starting with 5
    • Must be 5.000.032 or higher
    • βœ… Compliant: 5.000.032.0071
    • ❌ Non-compliant: 5.000.025.0048

Step 5: If Your Version is Out of Date

  1. Make sure the terminal is powered on and connected to the internet.
  2. Contact your POSaBIT support representative and request a manual software push.
  3. This must be done before the Sept. 26th to avoid downtime.
